A Washington D.C native, Candace Erin Penn passionately known as “CandaceErin” began dancing at the early age of three. She formally trained under Adrian Bolton, Kathy Smith, and Sharon Mutts which allowed her to perfect her craft. At the age of eight. Candace received an exclusive invitation to attend Duke Ellington School of the Arts “Tadpole” after-school program under the direction of Lynn Welters.
She attended courses at Christian Dance Academy and First Class Dance Studio on weekends. After some time, Candace was offered an assistant teaching position at the young age of 12. As her dance skills improved, Candace sought out new challenges. She attended Duke Ellington School of the Arts High School for two years. During the summer of her freshman year, Candace was selected to attend Debbie Allen Dance Academy also known as “DADA” in Los Angeles, California. After her second year attending DADA, Candace decided to relocate to Los Angeles.
While residing in Los Angeles, Candace choreographed for the LA Sparks “Old Skool Krew” and the Malibu High School Dance team. She also made appearances on television sitcoms, “That’s So Raven” and “8 Simple Rules.” Candace later decided to relocate back to where her passion originated, The District of Columbia. Her relocation was reconciliation with the world that ignited her passion.
Candace Erin has choreographed for competitive cheer and dance teams in the DC Metro area. Thus becoming a 10-time award-winning choreographer. She secured employment as the Artistic Director, dance instructor, and choreographer for Christian Dance Academy. CandaceErin has also worked with several schools developing and training students in ballet, modern, hip hop, and African dance. Schools such as Clinton Christian, Dancing for His Glory Dance School, Excellence Christian School, First Class Dance Studio, Visions Performing Arts, Bishop McNamara’s African Dance Program and City Dance Summer Youth Program, ZD Dance Academy, First Class Dance Studio, Lanham Christian School, Girls Group Mentor and Support Staff at Maya Angelou Public Charter School with the “See Forever Foundation “in Washington DC. Founder.
Candace Erin currently serves as a Creative And Artistic Director of photography for Randolph Studios. She founded the “ Just Jete’ “an activewear and dancewear line, competitive choreographer and dance instructor for First Class Dance Studio, and choreographer for The Conway Dance Academy.
